Terms of Service
Last updated: July 4, 2026
These terms set out the rules for using AuroraNote — what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you. Please read them carefully.
1Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using AuroraNote (the “Services”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services. These Terms apply to all visitors and users.
2Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
3Description of Service
AuroraNote lets you upload documents (video, audio, PDF, images, text) and uses AI to generate study materials such as transcripts (including speaker-labelled transcripts of recorded speech), notes, summaries, translations, mind maps, flashcards, quizzes, and AI-narrated podcast audio episodes produced with synthetic voices. Some compute-intensive features are metered: transcription is billed in credits, and podcast episodes are a separate pay-per-episode add-on purchased in packs, as described on the pricing page. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, and we may impose usage limits (for example, rate limits, quotas, or credit costs) to keep the platform reliable and affordable.
4Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
AuroraNote offers a Free plan (a one-time trial document plus the starter allowances shown on the pricing page) and a paid Pro subscription (monthly or yearly) with the monthly fair-use allowances listed there. Compute-heavy features are metered separately: transcription is billed in credits, and podcast episodes are a pay-per-episode add-on. The current allowances and prices always live on the pricing page and may change with notice.
- Payment processing: payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we only store your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference.
- Automatic renewal:subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your profile (“Manage billing”); Pro access continues until the end of the period already paid.
- Right of withdrawal (EU): by starting the subscription you request immediate access to a digital service; where you expressly consent to immediate performance, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right may be lost once the service has been fully performed. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected — contact us and we will assess refund requests in good faith.
- Price changes: we will notify you of price changes in advance; they apply from your next billing cycle. If you disagree, cancel before renewal.
- Failed payments & fair use:if a renewal payment fails, your account returns to the Free plan. Pro's monthly allowances are a fair-use policy that protects the platform from automated abuse; purchased credits and podcast episodes are not affected and remain available on your account.
5Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Services:
- Unlawfully: in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- To infringe rights: to upload content that violates copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights, or that you lack permission to process.
- To harm the platform: to attempt to bypass security, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the Services.
- To upload harmful content: malware, or unlawful, hateful, or abusive material.
6User Content & Ownership
You retain all ownership of the content you upload and the materials generated for you. You grant AuroraNote a limited, revocable licence to process your content solely to provide the Services to you (for example, to store, extract, and transform it into study materials). We claim no other rights over your content.
7Multimedia Content, Copyright & User Responsibility
The Services allow you to upload and process multimedia content, including audio and video recordings (for example, recorded lectures, voice notes, and screen recordings). By uploading or processing any content through the Services, you represent and warrant that you own such content or that you have obtained all rights, licences, consents, and permissions necessary for its upload and processing, including, where applicable, the consent of recorded persons and the authorisation of the holders of copyright and related rights (such as lecturers, institutions, publishers, or other third parties).
Assumption of liability and indemnification: you assume full and exclusive legal responsibility for the multimedia content you decide to upload, process, or elaborate through the platform, including any infringement of copyright, related rights, image rights, or confidentiality obligations. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AuroraNote, its owner, and its suppliers from and against any claim, demand, damage, loss, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with any violation of third-party rights committed through content you uploaded. AuroraNote acts as a mere technical processor of user-provided material, does not monitor uploads preventively, and disclaims any liability for copyright infringements committed by its users. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts upon notice of alleged infringement.
8AI Outputs, Disclaimers & No Professional Advice
No guarantee of accuracy
The Services are provided for educational and productivity purposes only and do not constitute legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AuroraNote and its suppliers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Services. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or EUR 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AuroraNote from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or the rights of any third party.
11Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your data from your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the Services in a way that could cause harm or legal exposure. Upon termination, provisions that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.
12Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the member state in which AuroraNote is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence remain unaffected.
